Carl explained his picture as, "A giant chick the king is afraid of. The chick is running after the king" (another SD included in his story, but not his drawing) . "Growling won't help you a bit. To me your just a juicy worm," Figure 2-3, was the response of Mr. C. who selected the toothy dog in association with the chick. His drawing also shows subtle changes. Although the SD dog leads with its chest, and its leash dangles from its collar, Mr. C's dog is tethered to a stake and leans away from the chick, receding on a slant from paw to jaw.

Subsequently, I used the test items with learning-disabled students and adult stroke patients. Eventually, my graduate students used the stimulus drawings in their fieldwork placements. D Stimulus Drawings and Techniques The first assessment. includes 50 stimulus drawings presented on 3" x 5" cards (Silver, 1981-1997). Examples are shown in Figure 2-l and Figure 2-2.
