With the release of Blend 4 there are now three. At some point, you as a developer will have to work in all three, so you need to be familiar with each. Figure 2-28. The Project panel shows all the application’s resources. Interestingly, the Projects panel used to be located on the right side of the IDE. In the more recent versions of Blend it is now located on the left side, next to the Objects and Timeline panel. Because I have been using Blend from the very beginning (when it was called Sparkle) I am used to it being on the right side of the IDE, so that is where I move it to. The Common Properties Bucket The Common Properties bucket of the Properties panel, shown in Figure 2-53, contains properties common to all UI elements or controls. Here you can set properties such as • • • What cursor (mouse pointer) an object will display when the mouse is over it (by specifying a value in the Cursor field). Whether the object can detect hits (by enabling the IsHitTestVisible option). Whether the object will display a tooltip and what it will read (by specifying text in the ToolTip field).
